The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is a streamlined visa option for short-term visits to Australia. Designed for eligible passport holders, this electronic visa allows for tourism, business, or family visits. The ETA is applied online, providing swift approval for stays of up to three months per visit within a 12-month period.

Travel Purposes:
This visa allows travel to Australia for tourism, visiting family or friends, and business purposes. However, if the primary reason is for study, applying for a student visa is recommended.
Cruise Information:
A visa is required for entry during a cruise. For round trip cruises from Australia, cruise time counts as part of the Australian stay, and the visa period is not reset.
Business Visitor Details:
Business visitors can engage in various activities but are restricted from working for or providing services to Australian-based businesses. The ETA is not a work visa, and any paid work may lead to visa cancellation.
Duration and Entry:
This temporary visa is valid for up to 12 months or the passport validity period, whichever is shorter. It allows multiple entries, enabling travelers to leave and re-enter Australia as many times as needed, with a 3-month stay permitted after each entry.
Extension and Processing:
Extensions are not allowed; instead, applicants must apply for another visa. Processing times are typically immediate, but delays may occur if there are inaccuracies or additional information is required.

Costs:
There is no Visa Application Charge (VAC), but a AUD20 application service fee is applicable when using the Australian ETA app.
